Symbiosis

I find it interesting how symbiotic some projects are in my world.
I’m finishing up a ghostwritten book for a client on a widespread health-related topic. It’s something I know a little bit about, but I’ll admit I’ve learned a tremendous amount during the writing process. Although I’m not at all concerned that I suffer from this particular health problem, I’m now convinced that many of the people I interact with do.
Add to that fact that one of my favorite television programs, Boston Legal, recently aired a show that discussed this same topic. I felt very much a know-it-all watching it with my friend and telling him, “Wow, I’m impressed. The writers must have read the same research I just did!”
I love it when projects in my work life extend and connect with my personal life in a cursory way. I feel stronger in my skills and knowledge having the outside reference, plus I’m happy to know that the show will probably generate some added interest about the problem, positively benefiting the client in the long run with the added marketing punch.
